Furnishing assistance to contractors
Contractors authorized to use government supply sources receive direct assistance and guidance from GSA or military activities to ensure proper ordering and compliance.
Overview
FAR 51.104 outlines the process for providing contractors with assistance after they have been authorized to use government supply sources. Once a contractor receives an activity address code, the contracting officer must notify the relevant GSA regional office or military activity. These entities are then responsible for contacting the contractor to provide essential ordering information and instructions. Additionally, they assist the contractor in preparing and submitting necessary requisition forms (such as FEDSTRIP, MILSTRIP, or agency-approved forms), and in completing GSA forms required for supply center services and publication mailing lists. This ensures that contractors have the resources and guidance needed to properly access and utilize government supply sources.
