Advisors will engage in short-term trips of two to three weeks or, in limited cases, resident postings lasting one year or more, requiring willingness to undertake arduous international travel to high-risk environments. Candidates must have at least ten years of direct, advanced experience in either tax administration—such as audit, compliance risk management, taxpayer service, or tax fraud—or customs administration—covering areas like valuation, tariff classification, border operations, and post-clearance audits. Additional expertise in human capital management, internal audit, anticorruption programs, or criminal investigation is also required. Preference is given to those with experience in automation, artificial intelligence, digital revenue systems, cybersecurity, and major administrative reform initiatives, along with strong leadership, project management, and communication skills. Prior international technical assistance work or foreign language proficiency is advantageous, as is recent experience with the IRS, CBP, or major accounting firms.
