SOLE SOURCE – cPCI BACKPLANES

The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane is seeking to procure ten Compact Peripheral Component Interconnect (cPCI) Backplanes from the original equipment manufacturer Atrenne Computing Solutions, LLC. The procurement is being conducted as a sole source acquisition under FAR 12.201-1 for simplified acquisition of commercial supplies due to the specialized nature of the equipment, which is a critical component of the AN/SPS-73A(V)12 Radar System used for surface search and navigation. These cPCI Backplanes, part number 9292809-01 REV C, have been specifically tested for compatibility and operational equivalence with the radar system, and purchasing from any other source would necessitate extensive and costly testing, estimated to take one to two years and cost over $750,000. The solicitation, issued on March 17, 2026, requires delivery within 38 weeks after award, and quotes must be submitted by 11:00 PM Eastern Time on March 25, 2026. Although the contract is sole source, the Navy will consider capability statements from other responsible sources but retains discretion over whether to compete the procurement. Interested offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM). Changes to the solicitation prior to the closing date will be posted on SAM.gov, and communications will be directed to the primary point of contact, Rose Brown. The contract will be awarded as a firm fixed price request for quotes under NAICS code 334111, with performance located at Crane, Indiana.
