GENERAL INFORMATION
- Title: Agilent TapeStation 4150 Automated Electrophoresis System
- Background Information: The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) performs research expanding our knowledge of disease and its prevention, detection, diagnosis and treatment by investigating genomes and their interactions within the cell. The Comparative Genomics Branch (CGS) of the Cancer Genetics and Comparative Genomics Branch (CGCGB) of NHGRI conducts research using a combination of basic and translational science using canines as a model system for humans. CGS collaborate with Federal, academic researchers, and the public at large to obtain unique or disease-affected samples to study how diseases that occur in the genomes of canines translate to humans for example invasive Urinary Cancer, cleft palate abnormalities, to behavior patterns. The majority of CGS research activities requires instrumentation that possesses the ability to be high throughput whilst not requiring the use of advanced robotics machinery.
