This contract involves the complete replacement of the Blatnik Bridge #9030 with a new bridge #69913 spanning T.H. 535, T.H. 53, and T.H. 35 between Duluth, Minnesota and Superior, Wisconsin over the St. Louis River, located in St. Louis County, MN and Douglas County, WI. The scope includes the removal of the existing bridge #9030 and the construction of three bridges: #69913 and two Wisconsin bridges identified as WI B-16-0155 and WI B-16-0154. Along with bridge construction, the project features the development of ramps, roundabouts, local streets, retaining walls, and various ADA improvements to enhance accessibility and safety. Additional components of the project encompass comprehensive infrastructure and technology upgrades such as lighting, permanent intelligent transportation systems, roadway and weather information systems, fiber optics, dynamic message signs, and permanent signing and striping. Stormwater treatment facilities and storm sewer systems will be installed to manage runoff and environmental impacts.
