The Tahltan Nation and the B.C. government are working in partnership to develop a Tahltan-B.C. Land Stewardship Plan (“TBCLSP”) within a portion of Tahltan Territory. The purpose of the Plan is to establish a framework for sustainable land stewardship and paced and scaled economic growth, ensuring a prosperous future for everyone in B.C. The final TBCLSP will set out jointly approved management areas and land use direction to protect, conserve, and restore culturally and ecologically important landscapes and waterways while providing opportunities for a diversified economic future. Effective public and stakeholder engagement is a critical component of the TBCLSP project. Meaningfully engaging Tahltan members, communities, stakeholders, interest groups and the public is necessary for the planning partners to hear about, and understand, the range of values, interests, issues and information related to the plan area and its resources. It is also vital to communicate out effectively, and on a regular basis, about the planning project and its progress using language that a non-technical audience can understand. The objectives for engagement and communications on the TBCLSP are:1. To meaningfully engage Tahltan members, communities, stakeholders, interest groups and the public and receive and document inputs and feedback related to the plan area and planning project; 2. To document and summarize inputs and feedback so that members of the planning team can demonstrate they have heard what was shared during engagement and considered it in plan development.3. To communicate updates to interested parties about progress on the TBCLSP and opportunities to engage; 4. To provide a joint Tahltan-BC narrative on the Plan, its purpose and outcomes at different junctures in the planning project; and 5. To promote cross-sector dialogue through workshops and webinars to foster awareness of the range of interests and perspectives on the plan and its outcomes. The planning partners are seeking a skilled engagement and communications consultant with experience working on government-to-government initiatives to support the TBCLSP. This work will support the planning partners to effectively gather and integrate community and stakeholder feedback into the Tahltan-BC Land Stewardship Plan and ensure the work is adequately and appropriately communicated over the course of the project. The contract is expected to begin April 1, 2026, and conclude by March 31, 2027. The total confirmed budget for this project is $200,000 CAD. In addition, there is potential for an additional allocation of up to $45,000 CAD, subject to confirmation of supplementary funding. Proponents should prepare proposals based on the confirmed budget and may include options or recommendations that could be considered should additional funding become available.Further details as to the scope of this opportunity and the requirements can be found within this RFP
