Hazardous Materials Labeling and Compliance

The contract requires the identification of hazardous components within defense shipments and the accurate application of hazard warning labels in full compliance with OSHA Hazard Communication standards and DFARS regulations. This includes ensuring that all containers, packaging, and materials are properly labeled to communicate chemical hazards to handlers and end users throughout the supply chain. Additionally, the contractor must prepare, maintain, and provide up-to-date Material Safety Data Sheets or Safety Data Sheets for each hazardous substance, ensuring technical accuracy and regulatory alignment with current federal requirements for defense logistics. All activities must be performed to support the Department of Defense’s mission-critical distribution networks under the purview of the Defense Logistics Agency, with work performed in accordance with strict defense supply chain protocols.
