The New York State Grown & Certified Cooperative Marketing Program aims to enhance sales and consumer recognition of New York-grown agricultural products by funding marketing efforts that prominently feature the NYS Grown & Certified (NYS G&C) logo. Administered by the New York State Department of Agriculture & Markets, this program, partially funded by the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service, offers up to $500,000 in total funding with individual awards capped at $10,000. Eligible applicants include agricultural producers, cooperatives, associations, processors, retailers, and strategic partners within New York State who participate or newly enroll in the NYS G&C program. The funds support a variety of marketing activities such as packaging modifications, point-of-purchase displays, print, radio, and digital advertising, provided these marketing materials comply with specific NYS G&C Style Guidelines and Trademark Licensing Agreement requirements. Digital marketing efforts must include measurable metrics, and all projects must create lasting brand exposure with demonstrable consumer impact. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted, with a submission deadline of September 30, 2026. The program operates on a reimbursement basis, requiring applicants to pre-register and prequalify in the Statewide Financial System (SFS) before applying and to submit necessary documentation such as vendor conflict of interest assurances, proof of insurance, and compliance certifications prior to contract execution. Awardees must complete projects and submit reimbursement claims within six months of signing a Letter of Agreement. Marketing materials bearing the NYS G&C logo must undergo pre-approval to ensure compliance, with noncompliance potentially resulting in withheld payments. The program excludes funding for costs unrelated to eligible marketing activities, including indirect expenses, promotional merchandise, and marketing efforts lacking adequate reporting capabilities. Performance monitoring includes tracking gross sales before and after projects, geographic distribution of materials, and digital engagement metrics. The Department maintains audit rights for up to six years post-project and retains final acceptance authority. This initiative specifically lacks small or minority business subcontracting goals and does not require a formal competitive evaluation, focusing instead on timely, compliant proposals that maximize NYS G&C brand visibility across all New York State counties.
