Land Acquisition and Conservation Easement ExecutionThis contract seeks to facilitate land purchases and negotiate permanent conservation easements specifically aimed at protecting wetland areas in collaboration with federal agencies and land trusts. The work involves securing ownership or legal restrictions on land to ensure the long-term preservation of ecologically significant wetlands, with a focus on partnerships that align conservation goals with land management practices. The solicitation is issued as a subcontract under NAICS code 531210, which corresponds to real estate lessors, indicating the need for expertise in land acquisition, legal easement structuring, and stakeholder coordination. The opportunity is managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service under the Department of the Interior, with responses due by September 25, 2026. While the specific geographic location of performance is not detailed, the work is expected to occur in areas critical to wetland conservation, likely across multiple states where federal conservation priorities are active. The absence of a set-aside designation suggests this subcontract is open to all eligible entities, and the emphasis is on proven capability in conservation land transactions, legal documentation, and cooperative implementation with public and nonprofit partners. Successful proposers will be expected to demonstrate experience in negotiating and executing binding conservation instruments and maintaining compliance with federal environmental and land use regulations.

Funding is administered by the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development and is available to businesses actively looking to transition from leasing to owning commercial space in Washington, D.C. The program does not specify a NAICS code, set-aside category, or solicitation number, as it is posted as a forecast, indicating that formal application procedures and detailed guidelines will be released at a later date. Interested parties should monitor official channels for forthcoming instructions on how to apply, as the initiative is part of the District’s broader strategy to strengthen neighborhood economies by enabling small and medium-sized businesses to build equity through real estate investment.
