The Rural Municipality of Souris Valley No. 7 invites tenders from qualified contractors to provide road allowance ditch mowing services on designated municipal roads for the 2026 mowing season. The work is intended to improve road safety, maintain sightlines, manage roadside vegetation, and support the general upkeep of municipal road allowances. 1. Tender Closing Date and Submission Sealed tenders clearly marked “Road Allowance Ditch Mowing Tender” will be received by the Rural Municipality of Souris Valley No. 7 until 3 p.m. on July 30, 2026. Late submissions may not be accepted. Submissions may be delivered to: the RM Office at #1 Bloor Street Oungre; mailed to Box 40, Oungre, SK S0C 1Z0 or emailed to [email protected]. (cont'd)
2. Scope of Work The successful contractor shall supply all labour, equipment, fuel, transportation, supervision, insurance, safety equipment, maintenance, and incidentals necessary to mow road allowance ditches on designated municipal roads (approximately 260 miles – subject to change) as directed by the Municipality. -Mowing shall include road allowance ditches along designated municipal roads, including grid roads, main farm access roads, local farm access roads, and other roads identified by the Municipality. -The mowing width shall be from the shoulder or edge of the travelled roadway to the fence line, crop line, tree line, water body, obstacle, or other boundary as directed by the Municipality. -The contractor shall mow vegetation to a reasonably uniform height of approximately 4 inches. -The contractor shall avoid damage to signs, culverts, survey markers, approaches, fences, utilities, trees, crops, private property, and municipal infrastructure. -The contractor shall report hazards, obstructions, damaged infrastructure, or areas that cannot be safely mowed to the Municipality as soon as practical. 3. Work Schedule and Completion The work shall be completed no later than September 15, 2026. The Municipality may adjust the schedule based on weather, road conditions, crop conditions, municipal priorities, or other operational requirements. 4. Contractor Requirements Each tender submission must include the following information: -Legal name of contractor or company, mailing address, phone number, and email address. -Description of mowing equipment to be used, including make, model, size, mower type, and availability. -Proposed start date and estimated completion date. -Proof of minimum $2,000,000 comp
