RVC is seeking Submissions from Contractors interested in becoming pre-qualified to bid on the bridge-sized culvert replacements at Bridge Files (BF) 1716 and 1799, which will be constructed in 2026. BF 1716 carries Range Road (RR) 15, also known as Panorama Road, over a Tributary to Nose Creek, near Airdrie. The roadway is a rural roadway though has increased traffic due to the proximity to Calgary and Airdrie alongside the number of adjacent acreages. The anticipated replacement structure will be a 2.4 m diameter CSP culvert installed along a similar alignment to the existing culvert. Specifics beyond this have not been determined at this time and no drawings are available yet. The construction completion date will be October 31, 2026. BF 1799, carries Township Road (TR) 233, also known as Dead Horse Road, over a Tributary to Serviceberry Creek, near Langdon. The roadway serves as a primary east-west corridor connecting the rural township system to the south end of Langdon. Boulder Creek Estates, a new development constructed in the late 2000s along the roadway has increased traffic along the roadway to the west of the crossing though traffic still remains relatively low along the crossing. The replacement structure is expected to be a 1.5 x 2.4 m precast concrete box culvert installed on an increased skew relative to the existing structure but designs are to be confirmed. The construction completion date will be October 31, 2026. It is noted that all projects are anticipated to be tendered out separately from each other. LEX3 Engineering Inc. has been engaged to complete the design of the new crossings, which are now underway. However, specifics of the new structures have not yet been developed and no drawings are available at this time. Contractors are advised that anticipated culvert structure details may change between the time of prequalification and tendering.
