The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the purchase of specialty gases to include tank rentals for operations located in Huntsville, AL., Redstone Arsenal.


 This notice is not a request for quotations. The solicitation will be opened to both Small and Large Business.  The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 325120 – Industrial Gas Manufacturing, and the applicable Small Business Size Standard, as established by the U.S. Small Business Administration, is 1200.   


The following is a list of specialty gas grades and cylinder sizes needed.


  • Argon (UHP Grade) – 1500L micro‑bulk Perma-Cyl tank (outside lab)
  • Nitrogen (UHP Grade) – 300 cu ft cylinder
  • Methane (UHP Grade) – 300 cu ft cylinder
  • Helium (UHP Grade) – 300 cu ft cylinder
  • Carbon Dioxide (Coleman Grade) – 50 lb cylinder
  • Carbon Monoxide (UHP Grade) – 150 cu ft cylinder
  • Hydrogen (UHP Grade) – 300 cu ft cylinder
  • Oxygen (UHP Grade) – 300 cu ft cylinder
  • Compressed Air (Zero Grade) – 300 cu ft cylinder

In accordance with Revolutionary FAR Overhaul FAR 12.201-1(c)(2), the Government may solicit quotations directly from suppliers for acquisitions at or below the simplified acquisition threshold. Vendors that respond to this notice and provide a valid point of contact MAY BE issued the solicitation directly via email. It is the vendor’s responsibility to notify the points of contact below of their interest in this requirement.


The solicitation (RFQ) will be issued on or around March 4, 2026.  Telephonic inquiries will not be honored.


If adequate competition is not received, the RFQ will be posted to SAM.gov.
