Maricopa County is seeking proposals to establish a Summer Youth Workforce Program for the summer of 2025, targeting youth aged 16 to 21 across various cities and towns within the county, with a focus on enrolling participants outside of Phoenix. The program aims to provide eligible youth with employment opportunities in in-demand industries through subsidized part-time work, personalized employment plans, and preparatory workshops focused on job readiness, soft skills, and career exploration. The initiative emphasizes long-term employment development and includes components such as curriculum-based training and on-site work experiences designed to equip youth with essential skills for future employment. Eligible bidders include a wide range of organizations such as for-profit and non-profit entities, educational institutions, government agencies, community and faith-based organizations, and small businesses. The county encourages collaborative proposals (consortia) that can collectively demonstrate the capacity to manage the program’s fiscal, administrative, and programmatic requirements, especially considering the potential complexity of administering cost-reimbursement grants. Bids must be submitted exclusively through PeriscopeS2G by October 29, 2024, with questions also directed through this platform. The county retains sole discretion in awarding the contract, which may be awarded in whole or in part to one or multiple vendors, with contract values estimated between $500,000 and $2,000,000.
