The 47th Contracting Flight at Laughlin Air Force Base (AFB) located in Del Rio, TX is considering a requirement to purchase two (2) T-38C Mixed Reality Devices. The requirements include a Chair/Platform/Chassis, Stick and Throttle (HOTAS), Rudder Control, Front-Facing Cameras, VR Headset, VR-capable Computer, and the simulator software. The software consists of a COTS Virtual Reality flight simulator customized with representations of the T-38C and local flying area, leaderboards, capability for formation flying, individual user profiles, ability to network multiple simulators, utilize recordings and replay/refly sections, and integrate flying publications and user content. The contractor is to install the virtual reality devices and provide training. The Contractor will provide at least 40 hours of over-the-phone support, with the option for more at an hourly rate. If/when solicitation is issued it will be in the form of a Request for Quotation (RFQ) and will be available on the Federal Business Opportunities (Fed Biz Opps) Website at address: www.fbo.gov. The tentative date to issue a solicitation is the last week of June 2019. Once the solicitation is posted, it is incumbent upon the interested parties to review this site frequently for any updates/amendments to any and all documents. Prospective offerors interested in submitting a proposal on this solicitation must have a commercial and government entity (CAGE) code. All interested parties must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database at https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/ prior to receiving award of a Government contract. Offerors are further advised that failure to register in SAM will render their firm ineligible for award.
