The University of Calgary, Arctic Institute of North America (AINA) operates the Kluane Lake Research Station (KLRS). The KLRS was established in 1961 providing support to researchers across Canada and is located 220 km northwest of Whitehorse, Yukon, on the south shore of Lhù’ààn Mân (Kluane Lake). KLRS is situated within the Traditional Territory of the Kluane First Nation (KFN) and the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations (CAFN). Research in the region often occurs within the Traditional Territories of KFN, CAFN, and the White River First Nation (WRFN). To the research team’s knowledge, Wildy Enterprises Ltd. is the only service provider that can complete the design, upgrade and commission generator and monitoring systems services at Kluane Lake Research Station, by the required deadline of April 30, 2026, ensuring funding deadline is met.
