Task Order vs. Delivery Order
What is Task Order vs. Delivery Order?
A task order generally orders services, while a delivery order orders supplies, against an established contract. The underlying vehicle sets the available scope and ordering framework. The individual order defines the specific work and applicable terms.
How to use it
Check vehicle access, scope, ordering procedures, and the order's pricing arrangement. Do not assume that holding a vehicle guarantees every order or that the vehicle ceiling is your expected revenue. Review the order package and amendments as their own competition or action.
Example
A contractor holding a services vehicle responds to a task-order request for a particular project. The vehicle provides access, but the company still needs to evaluate the project and satisfy the order's requirements.
