Strategic priorities include modernizing technical training facilities, expanding access to advanced manufacturing technologies, and ensuring instructional infrastructure meets evolving industry standards. Key programs emphasize CNC machining, automotive systems, roofing, plumbing, and HVAC technologies, with procurement activities directly tied to maintaining and upgrading lab environments that simulate real-world workspaces. The agency frequently procures industrial machinery, construction services, and specialized software systems to support its technical training mission. Procurements are typically structured as competitive solicitations under standard state procurement frameworks, with a consistent reliance on pre-qualified contractor pools for construction and facility upgrades. Equipment acquisitions prioritize durability, safety compliance, and industry certification alignment, ensuring training tools mirror current workplace standards. Primary procurement activity targets NAICS codes related to industrial truck and stacker machinery manufacturing, roofing contractors, and machine tool manufacturing, reflecting investments in vocational training infrastructure. Additional procurement includes computer systems design services and apparel contracting, likely supporting specialized curriculum needs such as safety gear production or facility management software. The agency does not utilize set-asides and engages vendors through open competition, favoring established contractors with proven expertise in technical facility upgrades and industrial equipment supply. Davis Technical College operates under the Utah Department of Education as a public technical college serving the state’s workforce development ecosystem. Located in Utah, it functions as a single-campus institution with no satellite locations. Procurement activities are conducted through state-established contracting vehicles, including pre-qualified vendor lists and direct solicitations, ensuring alignment with public procurement statutes and educational mission requirements.
