What does Dcma Mountain Pacific do?

The Defense Contract Management Agency’s Mountain Pacific office (S0302A) supports the Department of Defense by managing the disposition and reuse of surplus military property and ensuring the integrity of defense-related supply chains. Its core mission centers on the responsible transfer, recycling, and redistribution of excess electronic components, circuit assemblies, and industrial equipment no longer required for active service. Strategic priorities include maximizing asset recovery, minimizing waste through responsible recycling, and maintaining secure channels for the redistribution of critical defense electronics to authorized entities. The agency prioritizes transparency in surplus disposal and ensures compliance with federal property management regulations across the lifecycle of defense equipment. Procurement activity reflects a focus on the acquisition and redistribution of surplus defense electronics, including circuit card assemblies, test equipment, computer components, and recyclable materials. Contracts are typically structured as public bid sales or direct transfers of government-owned property, with no use of traditional service or supply contracts. The agency relies on surplus property disposal authorities under the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act to facilitate transfers, leveraging interagency agreements and public auctions to ensure accountability and efficient asset utilization. The agency’s procurement activity primarily targets NAICS 423930 (recyclable material merchant wholesalers), 423690 (electronic parts and equipment wholesalers), and 334418 (printed circuit assembly manufacturing), indicating a strong operational focus on the recovery, repurposing, and redistribution of electronic hardware. There is no evidence of set-aside preferences or targeted diversity initiatives in available records. Vendor relationships are transactional and limited to entities authorized to handle government surplus property, with no indication of long-term sourcing partnerships or contractor performance incentives. As a field office of the Defense Contract Management Agency under the Department of Defense, this unit operates without a fixed geographic footprint, supporting nationwide surplus property management efforts. It employs standardized federal disposal vehicles, including public bid sales and property transfer protocols, to ensure compliance with DoD and GSA regulations governing the disposition of excess defense assets.
