Its core mission centers on ensuring safe, functional, and sustainable facilities for academic, residential, and administrative operations. Strategic priorities include capital improvement initiatives, facility maintenance, and environmental stewardship, with a strong emphasis on long-term infrastructure resilience. Key programs focus on campus-wide construction, building system upgrades, and waste management services that align with institutional sustainability goals. The agency primarily procures construction and facility-related services through task order contracts and competitive solicitations, often leveraging multiple-award vehicles to streamline procurement for recurring needs. Dominguez Hills CSU’s procurement activity is dominated by commercial and institutional building construction, site preparation, and interior/exterior finishing work, reflecting a consistent investment in physical campus development. Janitorial, hazardous waste collection, and specialized plumbing and flooring services support day-to-day operations, while public relations engagements indicate efforts to communicate infrastructure initiatives to stakeholders. The agency consistently engages contractors with general building, electrical, and specialty trade licenses, favoring firms capable of delivering integrated, multi-disciplinary solutions across large-scale projects. As a campus of the California State University system, Dominguez Hills CSU operates under the broader authority of the State of California and manages its own facility procurement independently. It utilizes formal invitation for bids and request for proposals mechanisms to secure services, with no indication of federal or state-mandated set-asides. Its geographic presence is localized to its campus in Carson, California, where all procurement activities directly serve campus operations and student-facing infrastructure.
