The General Directorate of Forestry focuses on the strategic preservation and management of forest ecosystems, with a primary emphasis on disaster mitigation and environmental sustainability. Core priorities include the development of comprehensive fire management plans and the integration of biological diversity into forest management strategies. The agency also prioritizes the maintenance of forest infrastructure and the evaluation of operational effectiveness through independent expert reviews.
Procurement patterns indicate a heavy reliance on professional consultancy services for environmental planning and technical reporting. The agency frequently solicits specialized expertise for fire management and ecosystem services. Additionally, procurement activity extends to civil engineering for forest road construction and the acquisition of technical information systems.
The agency operates through a decentralized structure with significant activity across various regional and operational directorates, including those in Muğla, Mersin, Adana, Kahramanmaraş, Balıkesir, and Çanakkale. This suggests a broad geographic presence focused on regional forest administration and localized environmental protection initiatives.
