The Harari Region Water Bureau is dedicated to the development, expansion, and maintenance of water infrastructure to ensure sustainable access to water resources. Its core mission focuses on the implementation of Rural Pipe Systems and the rehabilitation of existing water points to improve regional water security. Strategic priorities include the expansion of water distribution networks across various Woredas and the restoration of critical groundwater assets.
Procurement patterns center on the acquisition of specialized water extraction and distribution hardware. The agency frequently procures submersible pumps, high-density polyethylene pipes and fittings, and spare parts for hand pumps. Additionally, the bureau contracts for technical services related to the rehabilitation of hand-dug wells and the construction of multi-village rural pipe systems.
