JAUNT operates as a support services arm within the Virginia state government, focused on maintaining operational continuity across critical administrative and infrastructure functions. Its core mission centers on enabling efficient public service delivery through the procurement of essential professional, technical, and facility support services. Strategic priorities include modernizing internal systems, ensuring reliable transportation and facility operations, and strengthening financial and communications infrastructure. Key initiatives involve digitizing human resources and financial management platforms, upgrading network and data storage capabilities, and sustaining maintenance of state-owned vehicles and mechanical systems. The agency frequently procures temporary staffing solutions to fill dynamic workforce needs, particularly in administrative and communications roles, alongside ongoing contracts for IT systems design, financial auditing, and facility maintenance. Contracts are typically awarded through open solicitations without set-asides, indicating a preference for competitive, performance-based engagements with qualified vendors capable of rapid deployment and scalability. JAUNT’s primary procurement categories include Temporary Help Services, Computer Systems Design, and Mechanical & HVAC Contracting, reflecting its reliance on outsourced expertise to sustain day-to-day operations. It consistently engages firms offering managed network services, architectural consulting, and automotive repair, signaling a need for specialized, non-core technical support rather than in-house capacity. Vendor relationships appear transactional and project-driven, with no indication of targeted diversity or small business preference programs. JAUNT is a unit of the Virginia state government, operating under the Department of Virginia with no specified physical location. It utilizes standard state procurement vehicles for professional, technical, and facility services, relying on open competition to source contractors across a broad spectrum of support disciplines. Its structure suggests a centralized coordination role, managing external partnerships to sustain statewide operational functions without direct service delivery.
