The agency prioritizes programs that promote environmental justice and sustainable waste practices within the City of Santa Fe. Procurement activity is heavily concentrated on contracted services for the collection and management of household hazardous waste, particularly through time-bound solicitation efforts tied to the operations of the Buckman Road Recycling and Transfer Station. The agency relies on direct solicitation mechanisms rather than blanket purchase agreements or long-term indefinite-delivery contracts. The primary NAICS category targeted is 562112—Hazardous Waste Collection—reflecting a narrow but critical procurement focus on specialized environmental remediation services. There is no evidence of set-aside preferences or diversity contracting initiatives in available data. Vendor relationships are transactional and performance-driven, with an emphasis on firms possessing demonstrated expertise in hazardous material handling, DOT compliance, and hazardous waste manifesting systems. Organized under the City of Santa Fe, the agency operates locally with jurisdiction over municipal solid and hazardous waste programs within the city limits. It utilizes standard municipal procurement vehicles, including public solicitations and competitive negotiations, to secure essential environmental services.
