The program is designed to enhance health and reduce illness through a phased approach: Phase I focuses on establishing technical merit and feasibility, while Phase II advances the research toward commercialization. Eligible applicants must be for-profit entities located in the U.S., owned more than 50 percent by U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and employ no more than 500 people.
