Universiteit van Amsterdam

Universiteit van Amsterdam provides multidisciplinary research and development services across a broad spectrum of scientific and social domains. Their core capabilities include advanced materials science, specifically in the development of lightweight protective structures for electric vehicle batteries, and high-resolution imaging using electron microscopy and spectroscopy for atomic-level analysis. In the life sciences, they specialize in enantioselective detection of chiral molecules for medical and microbiological applications. Their social science expertise encompasses the study of generative AI and large language models in political contexts, the impact of digital communication on democratic engagement, and the intersection of intellectual property law with sustainable circular economy practices. Additionally, they conduct behavioral research on school conflict resolution and psychological studies on the effects of sleep on traumatic memories. The organization maintains extensive partnerships with several specialized funding and regulatory bodies. They work most frequently with Exacte en Natuurwetenschappen and Sociale en Geesteswetenschappen on fundamental scientific and societal research. They also collaborate with the Regieorgaan Open Science on study verification and the Nationale Wetenschapsagenda on planetary health policy. Further engagements include work with the Nationaal Kennisinstituut Onderwijs and Toegepaste en Technische Wetenschappen, focusing on educational outcomes and applied technical innovation.
