University of Sao Paulo

The University of Sao Paulo provides advanced scientific research and systems modeling focused on the intersection of environmental stressors and public health. Their core capabilities include studying the synergistic effects of extreme heat and air pollution on renal health, as well as developing strategies to control pathogenic microbes, such as Legionella, within urban water systems and cooling towers to prevent contaminated aerosol emissions. Additionally, the organization specializes in systems-perspective modeling to analyze how extreme weather events exacerbate health inequalities and vulnerabilities among marginalized populations. The organization works exclusively with WOTRO Science for Global Development, delivering specialized research projects that address global health risks, urban safety, and the socio-environmental impacts of climate change.
