AI Contract Overview
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole-source firm fixed price purchase order to Agilent Technologies for advanced laboratory instrumentation, including gas chromatography systems, mass spectrometers, and associated software and support services, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and FAR 8.405(b). This procurement is justified on the basis that the equipment is proprietary to Agilent, with specific configurations such as the Agilent 8890 GC, 7010D GC/MS, 8900 ICP-MS, and 1290 Infinity III LC systems, each tailored with unique options like the Helium Conservation Module, Dry Scroll Pump Substitution, and Factory Plumbing, which are not available from competing manufacturers. The total estimated contract value is $1,885,642.27, derived from multiple CLINs covering equipment, installation, user training, one-year software updates, phone assistance, and consumables, with trade-in credits applied to the original pricing. All items are to be delivered to and accepted at the CDC facility in Atlanta, Georgia, with the equipment manufactured in the United States and labeled with model numbers, serial numbers, and barcodes for traceability. The solicitation is not a competitive procurement, but responses submitted by 9:30 AM on July 27, 2026, to Peter Loree at zus0@cdc.gov may be considered at the government’s discretion. No set-aside is in effect, and while no formal contract clauses, evaluation factors, or special requirements are explicitly stated, the procurement relies on manufacturer specifications and performance standards including CGA540 and CGA705 for gas handling components. Packaging, preservation, and invoicing methods are not detailed, and no COR, COTR, or PCO is designated; oversight is managed through the contracting specialist. Certifications such as UEI, CAGE code, or socioeconomic status are not required due to the sole-source nature of the action.
