The Department of Defense, through DLA Aviation At Huntsville, is seeking the procurement of 11 Geared Azimuth Drive Bearings (NSN 1055-01-470-7538, PN 13212989) for use in the Multiple Launch Rocket System (M-EF). Under solicitation SPRRA213R0006, the government intends to negotiate with Kaydon Corporation as the sole source due to proprietary technical data and specific manufacturing source requirements defined by DoD-STD-100. Delivery timelines are set at 235 days DACA if First Article Testing is required, or 80 days DACA if it is not. This acquisition is restricted by the Arms Export Control Act and the Export Administration Act, meaning technical data cannot be released outside the United States without prior government approval. All formal communications must be directed to Contracting Specialist David Thomas via email or fax. While the government intends to solicit a single source under FAR 6.302, other responsible firms are encouraged to identify their capabilities or seek source approval through the Standard Aviation and Missile Source Approval Request process for future opportunities.
