The U.S. Army Contracting Command - Picatinny is conducting a voluntary compatibility check for potential M4 Product Improvement Program Forward Rail Assembly candidates. Held at the Armament Technology Facility in Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey, during the week of September 12, 2011, this event allows offerors to test their rail assembly kits with various government-provided ancillary equipment, including grenade launchers, shotgun systems, and various optics and lasers. The goal is to help offerors better prepare their proposals for the competition by ensuring their hardware integrates correctly with standard Army equipment. Participation is strictly non-firing, and no ammunition or live-fire testing is permitted. Each offeror is limited to a 1.5-hour session with a maximum of four personnel. Interested parties were required to register between August 29 and September 2, 2011, providing company and vehicle details.
