The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) plans to award a sole source contract to BAE Systems in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for the procurement of two 57mm MK 110 MOD 0 Gun Mounts, with options for an additional three mounts. This contract includes the supply of related equipment, spare parts, and services to support the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard. The award is justified under the authority that only BAE Systems is the responsible source capable of meeting the agency’s specific requirements, as they are the exclusive designer, developer, and current manufacturer of the 57 mm MK 110 Gun Mount system. The acquisition will be conducted under a non-competitive process with an open invitation for interested parties to express their interest or submit proposals within 45 days of the announcement, though the government retains the discretion to proceed without competition. Information and updates about this procurement are accessible through both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) and Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) platforms. Subcontracting opportunities may be available through BAE Systems directly, but the contract itself is intended to be awarded solely to BAE Systems due to their unique qualifications and capabilities.
