Notice of Proposed ProcurementEffects of Student and Family Background Characteristics on Post-Secondary Education Access, Persistence, and Completion and Labour Market Outcomes in British ColumbiaThis requirement is for Employment and Social Development Canada(amendment 1): This requirement is open only to those Supply Arrangement Holders under ProServices who qualified under the National Capital Region (NCR) for the following stream and category:Stream: 9. Business Consulting/ Change ManagementCategory: 9.9 Statistical AnalystLevel of expertise: Senior Number of Resources: 1 (minimum) The following SA Holders have been invited to submit a proposal: 1) Deloitte Inc. 2) SRDC (The Social Research and Demonstration Corporation)Description of the Requirement:The objective of this research is to examine studentand family backgroundcharacteristics of British Columbia (BC) high school students. The research would provide data on student academic pathways and transitions from kindergarten to grade 12 (K-12) through to post-secondary education (PSE) and into the labour market.Specifically, the research will examine trends in PSE access, persistence and graduation over time, barriers to PSE experienced by youth in BC, and labour market outcomes. Furthermore, the analysis will examine how PSE access, persistence, completion and any barriers to PSE are related to a range of student, family, neighbourhood , K-12 school program , school type , and other characteristics.This research will support policy development regarding youth, especially those from under-served communities, and their efforts to access, persist and complete higher education.
