STEAMBLOCK GLOVES, Commercial Item Description A-A-59794 (Structural Fire Fighter?s Glove), NSN 4210-01-476-5010 ? SMALL, NSN 4210-01-476-5017 - MEDIUM, NSN 4210-01-476-5024 ? LARGE, NSN 4210-02-476-5031 ? EXTRA LARGE, NSN 4210-01-476-5036. The fire fighter's glove is a leather five-finger, knit wristlet style glove comprised of an outer shell, moisture barrier (liquid/fluid), and thermal liner. The system shall be permitted to be configured as a single layer or multiple layers that are permanently attached. The glove and all layers shall be available in a minimum of five sizes, (small, medium, large, xlarge, xxlarge). The glove and all layers of the glove shall be incrementally graded to comply with hand sizing dimensions as defined by National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1971. The glove shall have an additional insulative pad between the outer shell and moisture barrier on the back of the hand. The insulative pad covers the entire back of the glove up to the crotch of fingers. This is a Source Sought Notice only. This is NOT a Request for Proposal, Request for Quote or Invitation for Bid. This is a survey to locate potential sources of supply for Steamblock Gloves. Defense Supply Center Philadelphia is seeking to identify sources that could supply Commercial Item Description A-A-59794 requirements for a structural fire fighter?s glove to be used by Navy Damage Control fire fighters. tHIS MATERIAL IS MADE IN ACCORDANCE TO CID A-A-459794.
