THIS SYNOPSIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, MD intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with the Smiths Aerospace Mechanical Systems, 2040 East Dyer Rd., Santa Ana, CA 92705-5777 for the procurement of 480 Gallon External Fuel tanks in support for the F/A-18/E/F Program Office. This action is a sole source modification to contract N00421-00-C-0433 of additional quantities of 36 units to be purchased during Option Year III and 36 units to be purchased during Option Year IV of the current contract. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C., 2304(c)(1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is for information purposes only and not a request for competitive proposals. The Government reserves the right to process this procurement as a sole source action.
