The contract involves the procurement of 25 units of a structural bracket (NSN 1R-1560-015302395-V2) to be delivered FOB origin to Honeywell International Inc. located in Tempe, Arizona. The Department of Defense, through the Navsup Weapon Systems Support office in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, intends to award this contract under a sole-source negotiation, as the government does not have sufficient data or capability to acquire these parts from sources other than the current one. This is a notice of intent rather than a request for competitive quotes, although interested parties may express interest or submit quotes, which will be considered prior to award. The final decision on whether to pursue competitive procurement remains at the government’s discretion. The solicitation, titled "15--BRACKET, STRUCTURAL" under the number SPRPA109G002XGCEA, was posted on January 30, 2010, and does not specify any set-aside status or NAICS code. The procurement is managed by the Office of Naval Supply Systems Command (Navsup) Weapon Systems Support, reflecting its role in supporting military supply needs. The notice emphasizes that the lack of accurate or sufficient data on this part limits the government’s ability to purchase from multiple sources, underscoring the reliance on the incumbent supplier.
