AI Contract Overview

This contract involves the anticipated award of an order under a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) for the purchase of 60 relief valves, identified by NSN 1650-01-113-6030 and part number 1B48030-1. The Boeing Company, located in St. Louis, MO, is currently the only approved source authorized for the repair of these flight-critical items. Due to the sensitive nature and the technical requirements of the valves, government source approval is mandatory before any contract award, and full and open competition is not possible. Only previously government-approved sources have been solicited, and obtaining approval for new sources typically requires substantial time, making immediate inclusion difficult. Potential new suppliers are encouraged to contact the purchasing office to receive a detailed source approval brochure, which outlines the required documentation and technical data submissions tailored to the company's experience with similar products. Offers must include all necessary data as specified or evidence of ongoing source approval requests; otherwise, they will not be considered. Should source approval evaluations not be completed in time or restrictions hinder timely acquisition, the government reserves the right to proceed with the award based on fleet support requirements to meet operational needs.

General Info

Purchase of 60 relief valves from Boeing, government source approval required, limited competition.
