AI Contract Overview

The Mission & Installation Contracting Command is seeking to procure Type I and Type IV Aircraft De-Icing Fluid that complies with specific environmental standards due to the unique active and inactive ingredient mixture used. Only the current supplier, Ascent Aviation Group, has historically provided a product meeting these requirements, as alternative suppliers use ingredient mixtures incompatible with the existing system. Accepting fluids from other companies would necessitate a costly and wasteful purge of the existing de-icing system, including additional labor for cleanup, which is not feasible. The procurement notice invites interested parties to express their interest and demonstrate their capability to meet future de-icing fluid requirements by submitting documentation to the Contract Specialist, Kelly Taranto, by August 3, 2012. Information submitted will be reviewed solely for informational purposes with no payment from the Government for any responses. The solicitation falls under the NAICS code 332912 and is managed by the Department of Defense at Fort Drum, NY. All responses should be directed via email to the provided contact address.

Full Description

The Mission & Installation Contracting Command intends on procuring Type I and Type IV Aircraft De-Icing Fluid. This supply is the only one that meets the environmental requirement based on the active and inactive ingredient mixture that is used in the De-Icing Fluid. We are unable to use other company's ingredients because the ingredients are not permitted to be mixed. If we were to accept other companies De-Icing mixtures it would require a complete purge of the system already in use, which would in turn cause waste of any product that is left over. Additionally, the manpower to conduct the purge and cleanup would increase costs over what they already are. Ascent Aviation Group has been the only company to provide this supply as exhibited through procurement history (J&A attached.) Interested parties may identify their interest in, and capability to respond to future requirements of this nature by submitting documentation indicating their capabilities and qualifications to the identified point of contact no later than 3 August 2012. The information received will be considered solely for informational purposes and the Government will not pay for such information received. Point of Contact: Contract Specialist Kelly Taranto. Please email any responses to this notice to MICC-Fort Drum at contact@example.gov.
