16 -- Automatic Radar Periscope Detection and Discrimination (ARPDD) enhancement to the H-60 Romeo APS-147 Radar

The U.S Navy intends to propose a requirement for the development, integration and testing of the Automatic Radar Periscope Detection and Discrimination (ARPDD) enhancement to the APS-147 Radar for the MH-60R weapons system. Additionally, this procurement will include sustaining engineering for development of production engineering change proposals to incorporate ARPDD into the MH-60R production line; systems/project management; and providing related logistics and engineering support for a Cost or FFP type contract with Lockheed Martin Corporation, 1801 State Route 17C, Owego, New York 13827-3900. This effort will add a new mode to the existing APS-147 Radar which will need to operate seamlessly within the tightly integrated overall MH-60R mission systems architecture. This includes integration with other Radar modes within the APS-147; existing pilot, tactical officer, and sensor operator controls and displays; existing multi-sensor data fusion algorithms; existing and currently under development multiple types of MH-60R integrated data links; and the overall aircraft operating program (AOP) software. This contract will be awarded on a sole-source basis to Lockheed Martin Corporation, which as the developer and integrator of the MH-60R mission avionics system, software, and overall architecture, is the only known source with the knowledge, experience, and proprietary technical data required to perform these tasks within the necessary time frame.
