The Air Force has issued a sources sought notice to establish Qualification Requirements for companies wishing to demonstrate their capability to manufacture specific aerospace items, specifically a hydraulic pump motor designated by NSN 1650-01-161-1597HS and part number 731828A, originally produced by Hamilton Standard. This process requires potential suppliers to prove that their products match the original in fit, form, function, and manufacturing processes, though it does not imply any immediate procurement or availability of drawings or specifications. Public access to detailed technical data is generally restricted, and interested parties must submit written requests to the Small Business Office at Tinker AFB using specific communication methods, with no phone inquiries accepted. The notice is issued under FAR 9.2 and Public Law 98.525 guidelines, focusing on source approval without a current solicitation or set-aside status. It is meant to identify qualified manufacturers who could potentially supply these equipment items in the future. The contract data confirms this is a sources-sought action posted in March 2002 for the hydraulic pump motor, without specifying the agency or performance location details. Interested companies should follow the outlined procedures to seek additional information and initiate qualification processes.
