The Air Force has issued a notice establishing strict Qualification Requirements for a specific Power Control Assembly, identified by NSN 1680-01-443-8902EK and part number 15272-507-81, originally manufactured by Boeing Company. Interested companies must undergo a source approval process demonstrating the actual manufacture of the item; approvals based on similarity to other products will not be accepted. This notice does not indicate an upcoming purchase or availability of drawings or specifications, as such data is typically not publicly releasable. Companies seeking further information must submit written requests directly to the Small Business Office at Tinker AFB via mail, fax, or email; telephone inquiries are not permitted. This source approval notice, released on April 26, 2002, serves as a formal qualification step under FAR 9.2 and Public Law 98.525 but does not guarantee future procurement. The procurement type is sources sought, meaning the Air Force is identifying capable manufacturers but not soliciting bids or awarding contracts at this time.
