U.S. Special Operations Command intends to establish a commercial Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract with Cubic Defense Systems, Inc. for the procurement of approximately 40 AN/ARX 3000(V) Emergency Locator Transmitters. These units are designated to support MH-60M aircraft and other aircraft fielded for the command. The acquisition is planned for a delivery period spanning fiscal years 2007 through 2011. Due to the government lacking the necessary specifications and drawings to allow for full and open competition, the agency intends to negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1. While the government is soliciting from one source, it will consider other proposals from capable firms until the specified deadline. The solicitation for this requirement was estimated for release on December 11, 2006.
