Solicitation SPE7M2-27-Q-0042, issued by the DLA Weapons Support Nuclear Reactor Program, is for the procurement of 17 sheave assemblies (NSN 1720-00-484-1514, Part Number 509322-2R). This item is designated as an Aircraft Launch Recovery Equipment (ALRE) Critical Application Item (CAI) and is a restricted source item requiring engineering source approval from the Government design control activity. The delivery schedule for the primary production items is 673 days after receipt of order, with inspection and acceptance occurring at the origin. Due to its status as a CAI, strict serialization and packaging requirements are mandated for traceability, and any re-branding that obscures original OEM markings is prohibited. The contractor must adhere to MIL-STD-129 for marking and MIL-STD-2073-1E for packaging, utilizing specific die-cut containers to immobilize the product. Technical data is subject to ITAR or EAR export controls, and the contractor must comply with DFARS 252.204-7012 for safeguarding covered defense information. Additionally, the contract prohibits the use of class I ozone-depleting chemicals and the intentional addition of mercury.
