AI Contract Overview
The Bureau of Reclamation is seeking to acquire acoustic fish tag transmitters to facilitate scientific monitoring of fish behavior and survival at the Cle Elum Dam Helix and Roza Dam fish screens and roller gates. These transmitters are vital for assessing the effectiveness of key fish passage projects under the Yakima Basin Integrated Water Resource Management Plan, authorized by the Hoover Power Plant Act of 1984. Due to unique technical specifications and compatibility requirements with existing research protocols, Advanced Telemetry Systems (ATS) has been identified as the sole original equipment manufacturer capable of providing the necessary acoustic telemetry tags. This procurement is not a request for competitive bids, but the Bureau has opened an opportunity for other parties who believe they can supply equivalent products matching the required specifications to submit capability statements. The contract, identified as solicitation number 140R8126Q0037, was posted on February 18, 2026, with responses due by February 23, 2026. The work will be performed in Yakima, Washington, and is managed by the Department of the Interior's Denver Federal Center office. The primary point of contact for this procurement is Christopher Hainsworth, who can be reached via email or phone for inquiries.
