Request for Quotations HSCG80-07-Q-3FAX24 is an unrestricted solicitation for a firm fixed price purchase order to provide labor and materials to overhaul a CAT 3412 engine with an attached reduction gear. The scope of work includes a comprehensive rebuild involving the disassembly of the engine to the bare block, replacement of bearings, piston rings, and liners, and the renewal of all hoses, filters, and fluids. Additional requirements include replacing the hydraulic starter with a 24-volt electric starter, rebuilding the fuel injectors, governor, and fuel pump, and painting the assembly in Caterpillar Yellow. A critical component of the contract is the performance of dynamometer testing in the presence of a Coast Guard representative. The government intends to award the contract on or about September 12, 2007, with a desired delivery date of October 16, 2007, to the Coast Guard Engineering and Logistics Command in Baltimore, Maryland. Quotes must be submitted by September 5, 2007, and should include warranty terms and prompt payment discounts. Award selection will be based on price and the ability to meet all technical requirements and delivery schedules.
