The United States Coast Guard, through its MLC Atlantic office, plans to issue a purchase order to US Filter for various specialized parts required for the USCGC Willow. The order includes four Anode Assemblies, four Neoprene Mats, twenty-four Nut/Washer Assemblies, and two Reference Electrode Assemblies. US Filter is the sole responsible source for these parts due to possessing the necessary technical proprietary data, making competition unnecessary under the Federal Acquisition Regulation. The procurement will use Simplified Acquisition procedures with an estimated value of $29,000, and while this is a notice of intent rather than a solicitation for competitive quotes, information submitted within five days of the posting date may influence the government's decision to proceed without competition. This acquisition falls under the NAICS code 811310 and is managed by the Sflc Procurement Branch 1 within the Department of Homeland Security, located in Norfolk, Virginia. Key contacts for this contract include Contracting Officer Douglas G. Landau and Gail W. McDaniel, both reachable via provided email addresses and phone numbers. The government retains discretion over whether to consider competitive quotes, which would only be used to determine if a competitive procurement is warranted. This streamlined procurement approach is intended to ensure timely acquisition of critical parts needed for Coast Guard vessel maintenance and operation.
