The United States Coast Guard (USCG) Maintenance and Logistics Command Atlantic plans to issue a firm fixed price Indefinite Delivery Requirements contract for remanufactured 12V71 Detroit Diesel engines, including essential components such as engine mounts, fan, flywheel, overspeed governor, shutoff, tach drive, hydraulic governor, and muffler connection. The existing engines provided by the contractor will be accepted for core charge credit. Each engine must be accompanied by engine test results, a dynamometer report, and technical publication. This contract will be awarded under Federal Acquisition Regulation guidelines for commercial items and aims to procure engines for delivery to Coast Guard facilities in Boston, MA, or Sault Ste. Marie, MI. The solicitation, identified as RFQ number HSCG80-05-Q-3FAW29, will be issued around September 20, 2005, via the FedBizOpps website, with no hard copies distributed. The award is anticipated by November 1, 2005. The contract includes one base year with two one-year option periods, and approximately four engines per year may be ordered. Quoters must actively monitor the FedBizOpps site for the solicitation and any amendments. The contract will be granted to the responsible contractor whose quotation offers the best value considering price and other factors detailed in the solicitation. The contractor will bear the responsibility for shipping the engines to the specified Coast Guard facilities.
