Pico Blvd., Los Angeles CA 90064 on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements, 10U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The proposed procurement is for television programming currently licensed/distributed by 20th Century Fox for the American Forces Network - Broadcast Center (AFN-BC), located at the Defense Media Activity, 23755 Z Street, Riverside, CA 92518. AFN will distribute theprogramming by encrypted, digitally compressed satellite transmission system(currently Cisco's PowerVu Plus (MPEG-4) and/or by mail to authorized AFNtelevision outlets outside the contiguous United States for their non-commercial distribution/presentation via television broadcast frequencies, encrypted, digitallycompressed satellite transmission, and/or limited closed-circuit distributionsystems. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response to this notice will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within seven (7) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
