The 2014 NIH Small Business Industry Day is a one-day event hosted by the NIH Office of Acquisition Management and Policy, scheduled for June 30, 2014, at the Natcher Conference Center in Bethesda, Maryland. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with in-person registration opening at 8 a.m., though pre-registration online is strongly encouraged and available until June 24, 2014. This event aims to foster networking and partnership opportunities between small businesses—especially those categorized as HUBZone and Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses—and NIH acquisition offices. Activities will include a plenary session, panel discussions, workshops, and one-on-one meetings with NIH representatives. Each participating company may register only two attendees, with opportunities to engage directly with acquisition and program officials from NIH’s Acquisition Offices during matchmaking sessions scheduled from 1 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Vendors will select up to two preferred Acquisition Offices from NIH’s twenty-eight Institutes and Centers for these brief, 10-minute sessions. Participants should plan for the security process necessary to enter the NIH campus, which includes obtaining a visitor’s badge and may require up to an hour, so timely arrival is advised. The event is well-structured to promote strategic collaboration and provide insights into NIH acquisition opportunities. The contracting office managing this event is located in Rockville, Maryland. Contact persons for the event include Raymond Dillon and Laurie Weker, with provided email addresses and phone numbers for further inquiries. Detailed information and registration are available on the NIH Office of Acquisition Management and Policy website.
