Quebec City's Gare du Palais, a heritage railway station, is undergoing a renovation program divided into three (3) distinct phases. The purpose of this call for tenders is to select a general contractor to carry out the work involved in phase 2 of the renovation program. The work will include refurbishing the interior envelope of Wing C in the Main Hall and the Mezzanine, the Wing D in the Salle des pas perdus, the roof, pointed roof, and intels of the Wing C, as well as the installation of gutters and roof ice arrestors. There will also be dismantling of all temporary netting (installed as a mitigation measure in 2020), installation of temporary scaffolding to seal the space for lead conditions, as well as site signage, ventilation and temporary lighting. This station is one of Quebec City's architectural gems, and was an economic hub in the 1st half of the 20th century. The chosen general contractor will need to be vigilant in protecting the existing building during restoration work.Bidding and Documents are available on http://www.merx.com.
