The 2024 GPO Accreditation Program established by the University of Texas System aims to identify and certify qualifying group purchasing organizations, including Texas State Agencies performing GPO functions, as authorized suppliers of GPO services to UT System and its institutions. Organizations seeking accreditation must first obtain a nomination from a chief procurement officer of a UT System institution, demonstrating that the nominee meets the specified “value component test” outlined in the Operating Procedures. The accreditation process is mandatory for organizations wishing to provide GPO services within the UT System, and failure to secure or maintain accreditation, or opting out of the process, disqualifies organizations from participation. The application deadline for accreditation submissions is August 1, 2024, at 3 pm Austin time. This solicitation, titled "2024 GPO Accreditation Program," was posted on June 3, 2024, with a response deadline of July 3, 2024. The program is managed under NAICS code 425120 and is targeted at organizations classified as SLED (State and Local Government Entities). The contract size ranges from one to five million dollars, reflecting the potential scope of GPO services. Interested parties can contact Paul Steinkraus via email or phone for further information, and additional details are available through the provided link on the Texas SmartBuy website.

The attached documents describe the 2024 program under which The University of Texas System (UT System) plans to accredit qualifying group purchasing organizations (GPOs) (including Texas State Agencies performing GPO functions) that are identified as potential suppliers of GPO services to UT System or its institutions. Organizations that fail to secure or maintain this accreditation, or that decline to participate in the accreditation process, will not be used by UT System or its institutions for GPO services. Before being allowed to apply for accreditation, an applicant must secure, from one or more chief procurement officers of UT System institutions, a nomination to the UT System Office of Collaborative Business Services for accreditation, supported by information indicating that the nominee meets the required “value component test,” as detailed in the posted Operating Procedures. The deadline for submission of related accreditation application materials is 3 pm Austin time on August 1,2024.
