2026-2027 TREE & LIMB REMOVAL

The Town of Orange, Connecticut, is soliciting bids for the 2026-2027 Tree and Limb Removal project. The scope of work requires a qualified contractor to remove all trees specified on the Fall 2026 Tree List within six weeks of the notice to proceed, as well as provide on-call tree and limb removal services throughout the year. The contractor must provide a large bucket truck with an operator, at least one groundman, and a chipper truck with a crew. All brush must be chipped and hauled to a designated town property, logs must be cut into six-foot lengths and stacked by the road, and stumps must be cut within six inches of the ground. Work is permitted Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with special requests required for weekend or holiday work. Bids are due by 10:00 a.m. on October 1, 2026, and must include a signed bid form, project references, and a non-collusive affidavit. Pricing must be submitted as a lump sum for the initial tree list and a separate hourly rate for additional work. The Town will award the contract based on its best interest, considering price, experience, and the bidder's residency or business location within Orange, though the lowest price is not the sole determining factor. Bidders must not be delinquent in taxes or fees to the Town. Required insurance includes professional liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence and statutory workers' compensation. State prevailing wages apply only if the total contract value exceeds $100,000.
